Biography:

Peter Lim Huat Chye is Senior Consultant Urologist at the Andrology, Urology & Continence Centre of Gleneagles Hospital & Visiting Consultant at the Department of Urology, Changi General Hospital, Singapore. Dr Lim is also Honorary Professor of Urology & Andrology of the Hang Tuah Naval Medical School in Indonesia and . also serves as Adjunct Professor (Men's Health) at Edith Cowen University, Western Australia since 2000.

President of the Society for Men’s Health (Singapore), Professor Lim was also founder President of the Society for Continence, Singapore, President of the Asia- Pacific Continence Advisory Board and the Asian Society for Female Urology. Graduating with an MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Singapore in 1975, Professor Lim went on to obtain his Mastership in Advanced Surgery, from the same university in 1980. From 1987 to 1988 he completed Advanced Urology Training at the University of Edinburgh (Western General Hospital), in the UK. His pre- vious positions include Chief of the Department of Urology at Changi General Hospital (1997–2000) and Head of the Division of Urology at Toa Payoh Hospital (1991–1997).

Professor Lim also previously served as a Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital of Singapore and is the National Representative for Singapore in the Asia-Pacific Society for Impotence Research. He previously served as Member of the Board of Urology of the Academy of Medicine & Member of the Board of Advisors on Urology to the Minister for Health of the Republic of Singapore.

A member of many international societies, including the American Urological Society, the International Society for Impotence Research and the International Society for the Study of the Aging Male, Professor Lim has also served on the editorial boards of various journals, including the Singapore Medical Journal and the Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Himself the author of many articles published in peer-review journals, Professor Lim has also contributed to nine previous books. His research interests and specialties include andrology, erectile dysfunction, incontinence and general urology.

Amongst honours conferred on him are the Honorary Membership of the Institute of Urology, London (1992) and the Singapore Urological Association Lectureship of the Year 2001 and the Emininent reviewer Award of the SMJ & the Eminent Scientist of the Year award 2003 from the World Scientists Forum .
