SPEAKERS AND EXPERT PANELISTS PROFILES
Dr Enrique Grande, MD, PhD, Msc, is the current Director of the Medical Oncology Program at the MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid. Dr. Grande is focus on the research on Genitourinary tumors and takes active collaboration in the development of the Translational Research and Early Drug Development Unit. Dr. Grande was awarded his PhD for a pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic study of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in liver metabolism, and he holds a master’s degree in the molecular biology of cancer from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). A published author of more than 200 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, Dr Grande is also the founder of the Spanish Group of Research on Orphan and Uncommon Tumours (GETHI). Dr Grande is editor of several international journals and has been the editor of a range of books related on Oncology. Dr. Grande has participated in the most recent trials in the field of genitourinary and neuroendocrine tumors that led to the approval of the new drugs we have now available.
Assoc Prof Melvin Chua is the Head of Department and Senior Consultant for Head and Neck and Thoracic Cancers, Division of Radiation Oncology, and Director of the Data and Computational Science Core at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. He is also a Clinician-Scientist and Principal Investigator of the Tan Chin Tuan Laboratory of Optical Imaging, Photodynamic and Proton Beam Therapy – Precision Radiation Oncology Programme. His research is supported by the NMRC Clinician-Scientist award, and is focused on discovery and translational cancer genomics, and the development of biomarker-directed clinical trials in nasopharyngeal (NPC) and prostate cancers.
Dr Ravindran Kanesvaran is a Senior Consultant and Deputy Head in the Division of Medical Oncology of the National Cancer Centre Singapore and Medical Director of NCCS@ SKH Oncology. He is also an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is actively involved in graduate medical education and is the Program Director of the Medical Oncology Senior Residency Program. His research interests include GU oncology and geriatric oncology. He has published in a number of well-known peer reviewed journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology and Lancet Oncology. He is also the author of textbook chapters in the field of geriatric oncology. He has been awarded a number of awards including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO GU) Merit Award 2009, American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) scholar-in-training Award 2010 and European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) fellowship award 2012. He is a member of the ESMO Council, ESMO Asia Pacific Public Policy Committee Chair and a member of the ESMO Leadership Generation Task Force.
Assoc Prof Lee Lui Shiong is currently Head, Department of Urology, Sengkang General Hospital. He is also Site Director, Singhealth Urology Residency Programme in Sengkang General Hospital and Treasurer, Singapore Urological Association. His clinical interests are in urologic oncology and has published in areas related to robotic surgery in prostate and bladder cancer, multi-disciplinary care and biomarkers in prostate cancer. He is also an investigator in several urologic oncology clinical trials.
