Our Logo
Our first logo was a hand-drawn cystoscopic view of the 3 lobes of the prostate when the society was first founded in 1986. This logo reflects the roots of Urology as a surgical specialty on its own with the uptake of transurethral resection of prostate TURP in the 1970s.
In 2021, the Singapore Urological Association revised its logo to give it a more contemporary feel and to better represent the organization.
Embedded within these lobes are the kidney, bladder and prostate supported by the book of knowledge, and they reflect our objective of advancing the specialty of Urology and management of urological conditions supported by a foundation of knowledge and evidence from medical literature and trial data. The year of establishment of our association is imprinted in the outer rim of the logo. The cerulean blue colour symbolises water, the medium urologists work with most of the time.
